Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds: Phase Two Sound Button Box

A box of 100 large word cards that can be used for early word-reading practice.  The cards are double-sided showing each word with and without sound buttons.  Frequent practice at reading these words will support children to move from sounding towards automatic word recognition, building the fluency needed for reading sentences and simple texts.  The sound-button side of the cards includes a colour prompt aligned the colour-coded system for Letters and Sounds so that words can easily be matched to the GPCs children have been taught and need to practice.  The format also ensures High Frequency words are easily identifiable.

Sound Button Boxes are also available for Phase Three, Phase Four and Phase Five and can be purchased as a complete set.

Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds: Letter Tiles

A small box of letter tiles covering the 51 graphemes taught within Phase Two and Three of the Letters and Sounds programme.  These cards are perfect for children to handle in word-building activities to support early reading and spelling and work well as an alternative to magnetic lettersThe cards follow the colour-coded system for Letters and Sounds supporting the organisation of teaching and learning through the programmes progression and ensuring consistency of approach.

 

The tiles are also available in a larger “Letter Card” size (with and without strong magnetic fixings) for use when modelling word reading and spelling during class lessons.

Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds: Word Box

A box of 84 word cards matched to the pictures in the Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds Blending Box.  They are ideal for both guided and independent activities to develop confidence with early blending and word-reading skills and to promote fluency as well as for 1-1 intervention practice.

Single and double-line borders can be used to separate the cards into “Phase Two” and “Phase Three” words.
