Letters and Sounds Assessment Package

The Sound!Start Phonics for Letters and Sounds Assessment Package provides all the resources and materials needed for assessment across Phases Two to Five of the Letters and Sounds programme. It includes:

* support materials for teachers and teaching assistants to ensure consistent

use by all staff

* resources and record sheets for use as children are assessed

* an excel-based analysis tool that produces summary sheets at each phase and

across the Letters and Sounds programme

* guidance to support interpretation of the data and identification of possible

next steps for individuals and groups of children

The materials can be used with children who are new to learning phonics in KS2 as well as children who have followed the usual progression through the programme.
